10 - Three AM

The rumors and the sex tape didn’t matter, Andre did what he set out to do, change the subject. Already, he was being called one of the greatest football players of his time. Sure, some journalists and organizations were still on his back about his sexuality. And every other day some crazed guy on the internet was claiming to have slept with him, but all of that was outshined by Andre’s fame. He did magazines, talk shows, club appearances, and he hated it all. All Andre wanted to do was play football. But just because he was a great football player didn’t mean the Bucks were exceling as a team.

Though he did his best to lead his team, the majority of the players still heavily detested him, and by mid-season the Bucks’ dream of winning the superbowl were over. It was all done until next season. Instead of doing some much needed bonding with a lot of his teammates during the off-season, Andre just wanted to get away from them all. Andre just wanted to escape the spotlight and unwind. And along with his family he decided to leave North Carolina and go spend some time down in Atlanta.

Andre sat in the pool of his rented condo relaxing and drinking a beer.

Korey strutted out into the pool area, “You should be in the gym.”

“Why?” Andre asked as he sipped his beer.

“This is not the time for you to sit around and get soft. You should either be burning calories or pumping weights. If you can’t do that, at least be out there making some money,” Korey said, “Since people have found out you’ve been in Atlanta everybody wants to meet you. You’ve gotten invited to events and requests to be on a couple of shows filming in the area.”

“I hate all that shit though,” Andre said, “I want to play football and that’s it.”

“I’m surprised somebody like you is avoiding the spotlight,” Korey quipped.

“Listen, for me, I only want the respect of football fans, my coaches, and my team. The only spotlight I crave is the one I get when I’m out on the field. Fuck being on TV shows. All these actors and socialites just want to use me. I could at least see if some of them were offering to suck my dick or something.”

Andre’s sex life was basically still dead. He hooked up with Assistant Coach Layton every now and then. But Andre missed the old college days when he could pull any guy he wanted and have them jumping through hoops for him. Being in the NFL and behaving that way could end with him getting blackmailed or the end of his career. He hated having to choose between his sex life and playing in the NFL. But at the end of the day, being caught with his pants down with another man would only turn him into a media frenzy. With the sex tape, he got lucky. But as he was warned,
